Had my Inshore Lite painted metallic silver by a friend, used the only single foot guides designed for SW fishing, the TLDBSG size 6. WIll use this with 50# braid and a 15' 50# mono leader and will nothave a problem with knots passing through, I have a couple of other rods for this type of fishing which work perfctly. I got these guides in stock.

Yea John painted it, for $40 it's well worth it. I'm not surfcasting, but boat fishing where you might toss 100 feet underhand. IT's mor of a problem reeling a fish in than casting, th knot usually sticks on the tip top. I tie a Uni-Uni because I can do it 1-2-3, and it NEVER fails, unlike all the other knots I've tried. Before sayign try this or that, think about fishign when its' 30 degrees and blowing 15-20, hands frozen, wet - and thn think abotu whatever knot you use and tying it like that. I tinkered with all sorts of knots, they were great when I tied them at home, and failed when I tied during fishing.

I'm gonna try to paint some blanks soon. This one looks great! Is that a new guide? Titanium power oval?
