This is an antique rod I've been asked to refurbish, but I don't know what to do about a reel seat. It is a "North Woods" rod.

Tennessee Handle. The reel is taped onto the cork cylinder. There may have been thin metal sliding band rings there to hold the reel and they slipped off the end when the butt was damaged.
