Very clean and tight looking work. Love the look of simple colors that make the fish jump out. Are you using 2 transition guides? What is the rod used for? Good work Nathan.

Dah I just read the title Cobia rod. Is it a bait rod?

I normally use 2 guides for the transition on a spiral wrap. The rod is going to be used for cobia, sharks, kings, ect. off the beach from a kayak. Suspect bait will be the main method, but some lures may be tossed as well. Thanks for the compliments. The close up of the fish turned out a bit blurry, sorry.

I love the color combination and the work looks like top quality. One question - what methodology did you use to put 10 guides on a rod less than seven feet. Just curious - what is the spacing in inches for the last five guides and what is the ring size?

I use the static distribution method combined with a set initial placement to get the guide placement on spiral wrap rods. The approximate guide spacing is:
1=4", 2=8.25", 3=12.5", 4=17", 5=22", 6=27", 7=32.25", 8=37.5", 9=43.25", 10=49".
Guide sizes on this rod are 20, 16, 12, and 7 10's. I probably could have gotten away with using some 8's, but with a lot of guys running long topshots of 60 and 80# mono the size 10 rings are needed to easily clear the knots.
