Looks good, but doesn't look lik eit would be comfortable to hold during a long fight or a long day of fishing. Let us know how it fishes after you take it out a few times.

It looks very nice Curtis and obviously you can stain it to match the rest of your components/reels ets. Like Billy I wonder how it feels and the weight of the grips. Just out of curiosity why dont you like foam grips? Send me an email. I think it would add to the semitry of it if the fore grip were tapered.

I suspect it will be plenty comfortable to hold. Firmer is usually better for a rod grip. It probably adds a little more weight but depending on how it's going to be used that may or may not be objectionable. I like it, but then cocobolo is my favorite wood.
