This is my first real attempt at using CA to finish some of my woodwork. It is a cocobolo winding check and butt cap I built for a friend. The black rubber part of the butt cap is made from a hockey puck. Smile
The hardware is going on a new 13' 3 pce Batson XST float blank he is having built. I'm quite happy with the outcome and am working on something similar for a spey conversion for myself.

hockey puck sounds like a really good idea. I'd expect the CA glue to crack and peel off of it, unless you prepped teh rubber? I dunno. At least teh butt of the rod won't wear out like EVA or cork does
