Nice for #1. How hard was it to do? How tight (tension) are you wrapping the grey threads making the Spider? How about the Green threads?

It's funny you ask that Billy! The wrap it self wasn't to hard pattern wise. I was having some difficulties with the tension. I have used Madeira before but never on a cross wrap like this. I was having a heck of a time getting the tension where I wanted it. And as the green was supposed to be +1 the higher the number of threads the harder it got...I need to spend a day with some one like you. Just sit and watch...I still need to pack this pattern. I haven't cp'd it yet

Please dont' take any of this the wrong way, except constructive. IF you get offended or whatever I apologize, it's not my intent to embarass you, rather to help make your next wraps easier. Packing now isn't going to help - you need to remove teh gaps while wrapping, this will allow you to add more threads. PAcking now will not make the gaps disappear, it "might" move them to a different location in teh wrap, btu since you cannot add more threads to fill in, you can't do much about it now. Teh tension question was becasue I assumed you used a lot of tension at teh end of teh spider, this often prevents the background threads from being able to snug up, due to teh tension of the thread going perpendicular to teh background.

Billy no offense taken, as a matter of fact if I need to add more threads I'll take the whole thing off! LOL! Seriously. Why do it wrong if it can be fixed. I've seen enough of your wraps to know that you know what you are talking about. As I got near the end I started pulling the grey a little tighter on end, but not much tighter. Actually if you look between the legs (which is where I assume you are talking about) The green in this area is fairly loose, how do I tighten that up. Add more thread at that point or add more to the outside to push it? Any advice is welcome.

OK first off don't cut it off, it's just fine the way it is. Now, next time you do a wrap, when you finish wrappin gthe spider in teh middle, make about 8 threads worth of passes with teh green background. PAck the ENTIRE background in towards teh middle of teh spider. Move a little bit of threads at a time, maybe grab 4, then the next 4, then teh next 4, etc. Once you get to teh outside edge, rotate teh rod and repeat this process at teh next seam. The seam is what locks teh threads in place, concentrate moving the threads on both sides of this, and you'll see the threads will pretty much lock in place when you figure it out. Once you've packed the entire pattern, continue wrapping the background - the tighter you pack, teh more threads you fit, the less chance a gap will appear. It takes time to figure out, but once you do this will all make a lot more sense.
