2pc 6'8" MXF, Plasti-Dip over foam split grip handle. 3.56 oz. I wanted to test the 8 lb. foam with Plasti-Dip to see if it will hold up. It seems to be pretty stable.

The Plasti-Dip won't add any surface hardness to the foam so you'll have to be careful of sharp edges and that sort of thing. The carbon sleeves cure hard, Plasti-Dip doesn't. Just watch out for that sort of thing.

Hi Tom, The sharp edges is what I tried to stay away from. I did a couple tests with the foam and Plasti-Dip. When the Plasti-Dip is cured I tried to pull it away from the foam and it seemed like it was stuck to the foam really well due to the foam being porous and the Plasti-Dip being shrunk tightly around it. I should have dipped the handle pieces three times like the can said too for outdoor use. I only dipped them twice just to see if the handle wood hold up with just two coats. I think the Plasti-Dip does have a shot at holding up since it does add a little surface tension across the the foam. I think if the handle gets banged against something hard enough the foam will suffer along with the Plasti-Dip on top of it. Thank you for your advice. Have a great day and a happy new year, Rich.
